Help Center/Investing on Invown
What happens to my investment if Invown shuts down?
Your investment would be unaffected. When you invest through Invown, the securities are issued directly to you by the company you invest in. Your ownership and your rights come from your agreement with that issuer — not from Invown.
Invown never holds your money or your securities:
- While a raise is open, your funds sit in escrow with a third-party bank — see who holds investor funds. Invown Funding Portal LLC is not a registered broker-dealer and does not hold investor funds.
- At closing, funds go from escrow to the issuer, and your securities are issued to you.
So if Invown ever ceased operating, your agreements with the issuer would remain in force exactly as written. For the record: Invown has no plans to go anywhere.
